An evening with my dogs
I wanted to share what it’s like in my house with my little family.
1) I was taking a nice bath, when it was time to wash my hair I dumped some water on my head and put on the shampoo…. When suddenly I felt a very cold dog nose followed by a lick on my shoulder!! I had my eyes closed so I let out a very loud girly scream! Eyes still closed, I hear my wife laughing. when I got the soap out of my eyes, I see LeeLoo looking at me with a goofy pleased grin! 🤣😇
2) As most of you know River has had a hot spot on her leg that we have been trying to heal for almost a month now. We have tried shirts to cover it.. She figured out how to pull up the sleeve chew on herself and put the sleeve back so we wouldn’t notice. We did notice! So we wrapped it with gauze and medical tape. She figured out a way to start to pull the medical tape off to continue to chew on herself! We reinforced the wrap and thought we finally got it. When we lay down in bed we hear her chewing on something.. at first we thought it was a bone. I look down and she is gnawing on her wrap!! We stopped her in time.. but I feel this is going to be an ongoing battle. 🙄❤
3) Moya is under the impression that everything in this house that is comfortable is automatically hers. It doesn’t matter if we are actively using it!
She behaves this way because she is very stubborn and smart and quickly realized that eventually we will give in. Tonight she decided that MY pillow that I sleep on was hers. I pushed her off and she kept creeping back on it until I had a cold nose with hot breath in my ear! I sit up and turn on the light and try to move her. She ends up in an even more uncomfortable position and refused to move! When she finally moved she went right back up and laid on my pillow!! 🤣
Our dogs are truly our children! They all have their cute/annoying quarks. Over all, they are great dogs and I’m glad that we give them the room and freedom to show off their individual personalities That said.. Give me strength! 🤣❤
Pub Dog Bar and Restaurant
A client and I decided to visit Pub Dog for lunch yesterday at noon, with her Aussiedoodle Tabor and my Golden Retriever River. When we first pulled up the outside looked nice and inviting. The inside is a bar area that you order your food and drinks at. The employees were friendly enough and broke down the rules of the establishment for us. They also informed us that there was a reactive dog outside that they needed to muzzle before we could walk outside. That made us a little nervous, but we trekked on. When we arrived outside there was a strong smell of paint in the air, They were painting right outside where you have to walk through the double gate to bring your dogs into the small park area. When we got into the actual dog area they provided toys, water bowls and poop bags. We really liked that they provided all of the amenities that a dog park would need.
You order food and drinks inside and they text you when it’s ready. They do this because they cant have table service with the dogs being off leash. We completely understood the reasoning behind that. The only problem is you either need to have two people with you or leave your dog unattended to grab your food. Also walking back with your food is difficult because you have to maneuver through the double dog gates to get back in. Luckily since there were two of us we were able to pass the food over the fence. The food was grossly overpriced and not very good. I got a Puppy Melt which is just a Patty Melt and my client got the Turkey Reuben. Now, we understood that eating food in a dog park brings its own problems, so we expected dogs to be around and begging. The problem was the owners of these dogs either had no control of them or were just ignoring them all together. There were a few times that the dogs were getting aggressive with each other and that made us and our dogs uncomfortable.
Overall, I loved the concept but it was not for us. Not speaking badly of the establishment at all, I could definitely see how this concept could be appealing. Get off work, meet up with some friends with their dogs and have some beers. I wouldn’t recommend eating due to the above reasons and the food is not very good. If you are super protective of your Pup, this isn’t the environment for you, owners didn’t seem to be very attentive and it seemed like a free for all. Now, this is my experience and yours could be different. Also I was a bit concerned that they didn’t check to see if the dogs were vaccinated or fixed. One of the biggest issues we had was a man came in with his two intact males and they were aggressive and mounting all of the other dogs. That’s what started all the aggression and ultimately the reason we left. I would give Pub Dog a 5/10. I think they have some issues to iron out, but have a great concept and I would love to see this establishment continue to grow and thrive in our community.
Book an Assessment
The assessment is a chance to meet the owner and the dog in their own environment. It also opens up communication to discuss owners concerns and goals. If after the assessment owner and trainer feel comfortable moving forward, then paperwork will be completed.
